Hunter Lohse, PLA, Assoc. ASLA
Founder | Principal
Hunter is a South Texas native who returned to Brownsville in the spring of 2023 to launch SABAL. Along with his experience in landscape architecture, he brings with him fifteen years of professional work in the industries of fashion, real estate, education, and community development. He has lived in Texas, Arizona, New York, Ontario, South Korea, and the Republic of the Philippines.
Hunter is committed to exploring new technologies and sustainable design methodologies to create socially engaged landscapes that reconnect users to our unique South Texas ecosystem.

Bandit was adopted from the Pima Animal Control Center during the pandemic of 2020. Born in the shelter then twice adopted and twice returned, Bandit found a permanent home and a career path that allows him the flexibility and stability to thrive. Rarely leaves the boss’s side. Loves hiking, hates water.
